Scottish Drinks Experiences

We had the pleasure of providing a ‘Scottish Drinks Experience’ evening at the Playfair Hall, Edinburgh. Tasked with entertaining and relaxing a group of 200 delegates post-conference and pre-dinner with our Pop-Up Gin Bar and Whisky Tasting Stalls. The Playfair Hall is undoubtadly one of Edinburghs most spectacular venues. An event space with a glass cupola ceiling and striking architectural design, situated at the historic Surgeons Hall.

Our Scottish Drinks Experiences are interactive, meaning guests can mingle with our tasting staff: sampling great drinks and learning a little or a lot about the beautiful Scottish products we showcase and imbibe.

Pop Up Scottish Gin Bar

Stocked with two of our favourite Scottish Gins on the market currently. Hendricks Mid-Summer Solstice and Edinburgh’s very own Lind & Lime Gin. Both served up with Premium Tonic Waters, and respectively with cucumber and mint sprig for garnishes. Our bar was staffed by one of our resident gin bartenders who was on hand to not only mix up some tasty gin and tonics but also educate guests with funny stories, anecdotes, and the crazy history of gin.

Hendricks Midsummer Solstice

An amazing limited small batch release from the people who led the way in the global gin movement. Inspired by the long summer nights and the temporary nature of the seasons and being.  Differing from their signature gin, Midsummer solstice is a wonderful floral expression of the classic flavour.

Lind and lime Gin

One of our personal favourites at Reel Time Events. Crafted in our fair city at the Port of Leith Distillery. Lind and Lime Gin celebrates Leith’s and Edinburgh maritime and industrial roots. An amazing craft balanced spirit whose distinctive profile flavour is created through the distillation of juniper, pink peppercorn and zesty lime.

Whisky Tasting Stalls

Running alongside our Pop-Up Gin Bar we had two whisky tasting stalls hosted by our resident whisky hosts. Our hosts are some of the leading authorities when it comes to Malt Whisky. They are always on hand to interact with guests and guide them through tasting whatever great whiskies we have on offer.

Laphroaig (Islay)

Without a doubt the most distinctive whisky on the market encapsulating and emphasising the flavour profile of Island whiskies.  Its unique flavour comes from vicinity to the coast, the mineral content of the water, and its high moss content of the peat used in distillation. Intense in flavour but neverltheless a truly iconic whisky.

Glenfiddich (Highland Region)

Last but not least is the worlds most awarded Malt Whisky and with good reason. With the high cutting point of the spirit, the fresh spring water used in distillation, and its 12-year maturation in American oak and sherry casks! It truly is a whisky to savour, and a great introduction to Malt Whisky.
